How cool would that be, if we had a ‘pause’ button to stop, and a ‘replay’ button to rewind the hardest conflicts? We could take a step back to calm down, think over and continue the discussion with a clear head.
Even if we don’t have such a button, we have useful communication techniques which help us to reach the similar effect.
If you are also smarter after the conflict then during one, join us for this 2 hours long assertiveness training and try to learn how to slow down the risky communication situations.
What is assertive communication?
Assertiveness is a learnable skill and mode of communication, which involves respect for the boundaries of oneself and others. Assertiveness presumes an interest in the fulfillment of needs and wants through cooperation. This skill helps to reach nonviolent communication and later on social effectiveness. Such communication emphasizes expressing feelings forthrightly, but in a way that will turn into aggression.
